If you hold an active therapy license in New York, you likely already have a listing on TherapistAtlas, built from the NPI registry and checked against the state licensing board. Claiming it is free and always will be — you get control of your details, and readers get information straight from you.

What claiming gets you — free

  • The fields public records can't fill inAccepted insurance, telehealth availability, sliding scale — plus a telehealth badge once you confirm you offer it.
  • Control of the basicsYour address, phone, and how your name and credential appear — and a way to keep them current when they change.
  • A "claimed" markIt tells readers the information comes from you, not just from a registry.

Founding members

TherapistAtlas is new. We're honest about what that means — the directory is still earning its search rankings, and we'd rather grow it with therapists who were here first than pretend otherwise.

So the first therapists to claim their listings become founding members, free:

  • Featured placement in your city and specialty pages as the directory grows.
  • A founding-member badge on your profile, permanently.

Founding status is limited to roughly the first fifty claimed profiles. It never converts into a bill — it's our thank-you for claiming early.

What "verified" means here

Every listing on TherapistAtlas exists because we checked a license first — your NPI record matched against the state licensing board before anything was published. That's why you're listable at all. Claiming adds one more check: we confirm you are the person the license belongs to, usually by emailing you at an address connected to your practice. No documents to upload, no fees.

What it costs

Nothing. Your listing is free, claiming it is free, and keeping it current is free. Optional paid visibility upgrades will exist later for practices that want them, and they'll be clearly labeled as such — inclusion and verification are never for sale, and unclaimed listings never rank below claimed ones for pay-to-play reasons.
