What We Do
TherapistAtlas verifies therapist licenses against state records and publishes them in a free, searchable directory. Consumers get profiles they can trust and contact directly. Therapists get a free, claimable profile and, later, optional paid upgrades. Anyone can request a correction or removal and reach a human about it.
For people looking for a therapist
- License-verified listings. Every profile is checked against the state licensing board before it's published, and shows the license number and registration period so you can re-run the check yourself.
- Direct contact. The phone number on a profile is the practitioner's own listed number from public records. No intake team sits between you and the person you chose.
- Plain-English guides. Our guides cover the practical side of finding care — insurance, sliding scale fees, and what to ask on a first call.
- Free, always. No account, no fee, no paywall on any listing.
For therapists
- A free profile, already live. If you hold an active license in a state we cover, you likely already have a listing built from public records. Claiming it is free.
- You control your details. Claimed profiles can add specialties, insurance, telehealth availability, and a bio — the things public records can't say for you.
- Optional upgrades, transparent rules. Paid features are coming for claimed profiles. Verification and inclusion will never be among them, and search placement is never sold as trust.
Corrections and removals
Public records lag reality sometimes. If a listing is wrong — a stale address, an old phone number, a practitioner who has retired — tell us and we'll correct it or remove it. Practitioners can request removal of their own listing at any time.
